Burke Berendes is a partner at Kids Street, a premium television network for the entire family with entertaining shows for kids during the day and documentaries for the family in primetime.
Berendes began his career in the Pay-TV business in 1994 at GEMS television where eventually became Vice President of Affiliate Relations. Berendes remained at GEMS through their sale to Telemundo in 2000, and continued to work with them after the acquisition, including the re-brand as mun2, and the eventual sale of Telemundo to NBC in late 2001.
In 2002, Berendes left Telemundo / mun2 to partner with Jorge Fiterre and established an affiliate sales representation company named Condista. Condista brings some of the best Spanish language content to the U.S., and have helped launch networks including: Gol TV and SUR Peru, in addition to expanding the distribution of Video Rola, MVS TV, HOLA TV, TeleFormula, AtreSeries, NTN 24, Telefe, TyC Sports and RCN Novelas.
Since 2002, Condista has evolved from a Pay-TV channel distribution company to now include affiliate sales in Latin America and advertising sales across both the U.S. and LatAm.
At both Kids Street and Condista, Berendes is responsible for government relations and business development. Berendes remains a partner in both companies.
Berendes graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in both International Relations and Public Relations.
